Nottingham Forest is delighted to announce the signing of Scotland International Amy Rodgers.

The midfielder joins from fellow Barclays WSL 2 side Bristol City on a two-year deal as Forest Women’s first signing of the summer.

Rodgers started her senior career at Women’s Super League outfit Liverpool in 2017, playing over 50 times in a four-year stint with the Reds. During her spell on Merseyside, Rodgers was named 2018/19 Fans’ Player and Young Player of the Season.

In 2021, the midfielder joined London City Lionesses where she enjoyed her most prolific season to date netting 7 goals, and being awarded Supporters’ Goal of the Season for 2021/22.

Rodgers made the switch to then WSL outfit Bristol City in 2023 where she went on to feature in every domestic league fixture for two straight seasons.

The 25-year-old has represented England at U17, U19 and U21 level, before switching allegiance to Scotland in 2023 and going on to make 10 international caps to date.

Rodgers arrives on Trentside to join Carly Davies’ side for their inaugural season in the Women’s Super League 2.

Nottingham Forest Women head coach, Carly Davies, said: “Amy joins the Club with a wealth of experience, having previously played in the Women’s Super League and internationally with Scotland.

“She is a composed and technically gifted central midfielder and has a proven pedigree at this level. She is a fantastic addition to the squad; her vision, work rate and leadership qualities will be a huge asset to us both on and off the pitch.

“We’re thrilled to welcome her to the Club.”

Rodgers spoke on her signing: “I’m really excited to be here. As soon as I heard about the project and spoke with Carly I felt like it was a bit of a no brainer, so I’m really happy to be here.”
