Nottingham Forest B Team's group for the 2024/25 Premier League International Cup has been confirmed.

The Reds will face Dinamo Zagreb, Valencia, Ajax and Monaco in the group stage of the prestigious competition, which aims to give homegrown talent from Category One academies the opportunity to test themselves against top European youth sides.

Head of Academy Chris McGuane said: “We are all excited about the upcoming PL International Cup fixtures, this competition fits perfectly with our own Forest strategic pillars focusing on player challenge and ‘best v best’ cross border opportunity.

“When combined with PL2, the EFL Trophy, and others it provides our players with the variability that stimulates learning, with early exposure to men’s first team football, as well as playing against elite players from their age group.”

All games are scheduled to be played at Loughborough University and will be open to the public, with ticket information to follow.

Competition Format

The Premier League International Cup features 12 sides from Premier League 2 as well as 12 of the best development squads in the rest of Europe.

The competition is split into three groups of eight, with each PL2 club playing each of the four international clubs in their group. All matches are played in England.

The PL2 teams do not face each other, neither do the international teams play one another in the group stage.

The top two teams from each group and the two best third-placed teams advance to the quarter-finals.

In the knockout stages, the ties are decided in one-off matches, with extra-time and then penalties required if the match is level after 90 minutes.
