Cash had a superb season for The Reds, converting to right back and starring throughout the campaign, and has secured the end-of-season award with 60 per cent of the vote.

The academy graduate follows in the footsteps of club legends such as Garry Birtles, Nigel Clough, Des Walker and Stuart Pearce in winning the award, while taking the title from teammate Joe Lolley who won it last season.

Lewis Grabban finished in second place with 13 per cent of the vote after becoming the first Forest player to score 20 league goals in a season since 2002-03, while Brice Samba claimed third place with 9 per cent of the vote in his debut season on Trentside.
