The Reds are winless in seven games but face The Owls at The City Ground confident that they can get a positive result.
Hughton said: “We are feeling good. We have trained well, obviously the gap in between the games is what we have got used to, but we are looking forward to it.
“It is more than disappointing at the minute, as a manager in any league at any time. Our objective, being in the place that we are, is to develop the team but of course it is to get results.
“We are frustrated, angry, disappointed, all of those things because we need to be picking up points. We have found in the last six games, those against the top sides, that we have fallen short of that.
“I believe that our performances haven’t warranted all of the results that we have got, but the fact is that we haven’t got those results. We need to do better and the next best opportunity to do that is tomorrow. With the run that we are on, the next game becomes even more important.”
The victory on Tuesday will be all-important and Hughton will take it however it comes, but hopes that a good performance from the team leads to a good result.
He said: “It could be anything, but I would like it to be because of a good enough performance from the team. Some of the stuff we have shown will allow us to get the goals that we are finding it difficult to get to win the game.
“When you are in the period that we are at the moment, you take a win in any way that it comes. Whether it is not such a good performance and a fortunate goal, or a little bit of creativity that wins the game. Whichever way, but we have more chance of winning if the performance is better.”
With the two teams near the foot of the table, Hughton dismissed the idea that the game is a ‘six-pointer’ as there is still a large portion of the season to go.
He said: “I wouldn’t say it is because of the part of the season that we are at. The exact same way that any team can go on a poor run of games in terms of results.
“This is such a tight league and any team can put a series of wins together to change things. That being the case, then the mood changes and the whole feel of the place changes.
“You are always working as hard as you can for that to happen, but we are still young in the season, there is so much football to be played over a period of time, with a few games pre-January and numerous games post-January.”
