Sammy Ameobi scored twice in an entertaining match at The City Ground to secure a point which cemented Forest’s place in the top six and kept Swansea at bay in the hunt for a play-off spot.

Speaking after the game, Lamouchi said: “It was a strange game. We finished much better than we started. At the beginning I was disappointed with the way we started the game, we conceded the first goal so easily in my opinion, but it is a good reaction at one down and we came back two times in the game.

“We created and we tried with the substitutes to win this game. One point is not enough to secure play-offs but it is one more point and we are close to the achievement.

“It was difficult for the players physically tonight and they used a lot of energy, we need to think about that but what can we do, they tried. There were some mistakes, of course, and they were tired, of course. Some goals we could avoid but the reaction was there.

“We were better in the second half, we kept a direct opponent away from us and we have two games to go.”

Lamouchi was full of praise for Ameobi’s display, with two superb strikes helping The Reds to gain the point

He said: “Sammy created alone, he made the difference alone so this point is from Sammy.

“I am happy and I am happy for him. He needs to believe more in his quality because he can score, he can help the team more because he is very dangerous for the opponent.

“It was a good surprise for me from the beginning of the season, but the season is not finished so we have to focus, have a rest and prepare for the next one on Sunday, then next Wednesday we will finish the regular season and we hope not our season.”
