Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Brice Samba is targeting a final flourish to the 2020-21 campaign and admits The Reds will not be resting on their laurels ahead of tonight's trip to Birmingham City.

The 26-year-old has kept 13 clean sheets this season and despite maintaining that personal achievements are not his main focus, Samba is hoping to record a few more shut-outs in the final four matches to give him confidence ahead of next season.

Speaking ahead of the game, he said: "Last season was a much better one than this because this season has been very tough. We didn't start well with four defeats in a row but we need to end the season strongly in order to take some momentum into the next one. It is so important for us to finish this season strongly but we know how difficult it is going to be against two teams in Birmingham and Sheffield Wednesday who need the points.

"We've worked hard all season to try and put a good run of form together but it has never really happened for us. I was surprised when I came here last season at how difficult the Championship is and how you have to be at 100% in every game against every team. If we can get four wins in a row to end this season then it will give us a lot of confidence heading into the summer and into next season.

"Defensively, I think we have done good work this season but that isn't just down to me and the defenders, that is down to everyone in the team from the strikers all the way back. If we can record four clean sheets in the final four game of the season then I will be very happy with how the season has gone on a personal level, if not for the team.

"I think I did well last season, particularly as a new guy in a new country, but this season has been more difficult for me because the team has been struggling. I'm happy with my second season overall but I know that I can do better and I know there is more to come from me. All I do is go out there, stay focused in every game and try my best and I've really enjoyed playing for Nottingham Forest so far."
