Nottingham Forest are pleased to announce that midfielder Tyrese Fornah has signed a new deal with the club until the end of the 2023/24 season.

Fornah has been on The Reds' books since 2018 following his release from Brighton and Hove Albion and made his professional debut in a FA Cup third round defeat to Chelsea in January 2020.

The midfielder, who made 44 appearances on loan at League One side Plymouth Argyle last season, has been a regular for Andy Reid's Under-23 side in the Premier League 2 Division 2 this term, starting nine times.

The 22-year-old has also made three first-team appearances this season, including a man-of-the-match display against Bradford City in the first round of the Carabao Cup in August.

After signing his new contract, Fornah said: "It's an absolute privilege and an honour to extend my stay here.

"I have massive gratitude to everyone for really pushing to get this done and I'm delighted.

"It's a privilege to play for this club. I've basically grown up here in the academy and to have been in and around the first-team has been great, but I just want more and want to become a regular in the team."

Head coach Steve Cooper added: "We're delighted that Tyrese is committing himself to the club by extending his stay.

"It's now down to us as a football club to show a real commitment towards continuing Tyrese's development, with a plan to give him opportunities to play in our first-team in the coming years.

"He has shown a brilliant attitude in training and a real hunger to want to play games. We look forward to supporting him as best we can."

The Reds are back in Sky Bet Championship action this weekend as Hull City visit The City Ground. Tickets can be purchased here.
