Xande Silva insists that The Reds must 'keep going' and forget about Thursday's defeat to Huddersfield Town.

The Reds fell to back-to-back defeats for the first time since Steve Cooper took charge, despite creating a number of chances and having 23 shots.

Silva saw two close-range efforts blocked in the first half, whilst Philip Zinckernagel hit the crossbar and Brennan Johnson couldn't convert from six yards in the second half.

Ultimately, Duane Holmes' strike on the half-hour mark proved decisive, with The Reds left frustrated as they failed to find the back of the net.

Xande Silva said: "We're very sad. We wanted to get the three points, but we just need to go again and try to get three points in the next game.

"We should have scored, but I think the team did very well. This is the work we've been doing in training every week, so we have to keep going and work harder."

It was Silva's first start since joining The Reds from West Ham United in the summer, and the 24-year-old vowed that he will continue to fight for a place in the team.

"Everyone is fighting for their place every week and that's what I'm going to continue doing," he added.

"We've got very good players and everyone is waiting for their chance. I waited for my chance and I'm very happy to play, but we have to keep going.

"We have a really good team, good people, good manager and it's a good place to be. The fans are amazing and it's a dream for any player to have fans like this."
