The Nottingham Forest Women's Reserve team have appointed Sarah Richardson as the new Head Coach.

Sarah, who is currently working towards her UEFA A coaching certificate, is a familiar face to the squad having previously been involved in the Under 16's Regional Talent Programme coaching set-up.

Sarah will lead the squad with Aston Dyer who will continue in his role of assistant coach.

Talking about her new role, Sarah said: "I am delighted to be involved within the senior set-up at Nottingham Forest Women and I'm thoroughly looking forward to taking on a new challenge.

"I'll be working with new players but also players that have been filtered through the RTC system, helping them develop and hopefully one day seeing them in the Women's first team."

"It has been a difficult past couple of seasons due to COVID so I believe it is important we make up for lost time. I want to ensure players are competing both individually and collectively as a team to drive for performance and results. Ultimately, I want the players to maintain the desire to achieve first team selection and for me to provide players for the first team."

Sarah has seen first-hand over the years the quality of player produced at Nottingham Forest and we asked for her take why the club is able to produce a number of players for the senior team: "I believe it’s down to us being a together club. We have strong values and ethos that are symmetrically replicated and emphasised for both players and staff in which provides expectations and standards.

"We have a well structured playing pathway in place that provides opportunities and an environment where the players are well supported and challenged."

Andy Cook offered his thoughts on Sarah's appointment: "We are delighted to have Sarah with us and leading the reserve team. She knows the girls well, worked with assistant coach Aston at the RTC and has spent time with us in the first team last season. I cannot wait to see how the reserves and the development teams get on this season."
