The new 2021-22 season home kit was unveiled to supporters earlier today in a video directed by Keane Pearce Shaw.
Born in Clifton in 1991, Keane was named in honour of his Dad’s Forest heroes, Roy Keane and Stuart Pearce.
It’s been a hectic week for Keane whose video for The FA for England’s Euros squad announcement was launched to critical acclaim on Tuesday. His stellar client list includes the likes Real Madrid, Barcelona and Liverpool.
Although a true Nottinghamian, Keane now spends his time between London and Madrid. “It’s been a dream come true to work with Messi, Ronaldo and Beckham but for me it doesn’t get any better than working with Forest, the club that I love”, said Keane.
“I feel like I’ve completed a personal treble in the last year by working with Forest and England, aswell as directing a FIFA 21 trailer.”
Unsurprisingly considering his name, Keane embraced the club from a young age and his affinity is obvious from his tattoos, including NFFC across his knuckles and a portrait of Pierre Van Hooijdonk adorning his forearm.
Talking about his upbringing Keane said: “My sister is named Robyn after Robin Hood. I’m sure if my Dad could have changed our surname to Clough, he would have done. We even have family dogs named Psycho and Stan!
“My first Forest match was against Aston Villa, aged 6 or 7. But a match that really stands out in my childhood was when we beat West Ham 2-1 just after Cloughie passed away and Marlon King curled in a last-minute winner.
“It was really special to me as it was the last game that I watched with my Grandad”.
The ‘Then. Now. Forever Forest.’ kit launch campaign was shot in Nottingham over three days. By incorporating many iconic landmarks, Keane captures the rebel spirit entrenched in the rich history of the city and his own character shines through in his distinctive raw and gritty street style direction fusing sport and popular culture.
“I really hope we’ve created something that the fans can be proud of but also set the bar for future projects” said Keane.
David Cook, Nottingham Forest Chief Commercial Officer, said: “We are delighted with the fans’ reaction to the new home kit. Sales in the first 90 minutes of pre-sale alone exceeded sales during the first 24 hours of last season.
“Keane’s video is contemporary yet perfectly captures the history and the spirit of the city of Nottingham and the feedback from fans has been fantastic. The film is the perfect backdrop for the new shirt”.
The new Nottingham Forest home shirt is now available to pre-order, priced at £50 for adults and £40 for juniors, with full infant kit at £40.
