The 28-year-old put in a strong and combative performance at the Brentford Community Stadium to help his side take something from the midfielder believes The Reds thoroughly deserved a share of the spoils in West London.

Speaking after the game, he said: "It was a really good game for us and I thought we did really well. We travelled here knowing that it would be a tough game against a really strong opponent but in the end I think we deserved the point. It was a pity to concede the penalty so early in the game, although it was quite soft, but after that I thought we showed a really good reaction.

"We fought our way back into the game and even after we equalised, we looked to try and find that second goal to take all three points but it wasn't quite to be. Like I say though, we deserved the point and when you look at our position in the table it is a very important point for us and one that we needed.

"I'm really enjoying English football, I like it so much and I always try to do my best. I'm giving everything I can to progress as a player and also to help the team so I'm really enjoying it at the moment. It has taken me some time to get used to the league because the Championship is so tough with games every three or four days sometimes but I feel like I've adapted well and I feel good going into these last few games of the season."
