Nottingham Forest are pleased to announce that Under 23s forward Julian Larsson has signed a new deal with the club.

The 21-year-old has committed his future to The Reds by signing a contract which will keep him at The City Ground until 2025.

Larsson joined the Forest Academy from Swedish top-flight side AIK in January 2020 and has since established himself as an important player for the Under 23s.

The Swede has scored eight goals and registered five assists in the Premier League 2 Division 2 this season, with Andy Reid's side currently sat fourth in the league standings.

Larsson, who featured twice for Sweden U20s earlier this campaign, has been involved in first team training under Steve Cooper on a number of occasions this season.

After signing his new contract, Larsson said: "It's a very good feeling.

"This is an amazing club and I really enjoy it here. Nottingham is like my second home and I love the city.

"I want to break into the first team, progress my development and hopefully play in front of the fans at The City Ground.

"I learn a lot every time I train with them. The coaching staff are brilliant, the players are nice, so it's perfect and very enjoyable."

Forest U23s Head Coach Andy Reid said: "Julian’s progression this year has been exceptional having had a difficult time in the previous seasons with injury.

"He has shown the character and resilience we look for in our players which, coupled with his undoubted ability, has led him to this new deal.

"After a fantastic season so far, we look forward to seeing Julian continue to progress at the football club over the coming months and years."

The Reds are in action against Middlesbrough U23s on Friday night at The City Ground, kick-off 7pm with tickets available here.
