Forest kicked off their winter break friendly schedule on Friday evening against Championship side Stoke City at the Loughborough University Stadium.
The Reds fielded a different eleven in each half, with Morgan Gibbs-White opening the scoring moments before the break after tucking the ball home after Emmanuel Dennis' strike was blocked.
Stoke responded in the second half with an unfortunate Steve Cook own goal and a Tyrese Campbell effort following a goal mouth scramble on an evening which saw 22 Reds get match minutes under their belts.
Next up for Forest is a winter break training camp in Greece, which will involve a behind-closed-doors fixture against Atromitos FC before facing Olympiacos at the Karaiskakis Stadium.
