- Forest Women return to winning ways with 1-0 victory over Hull
- Greengrass goal sends Reds up to fourth in table
Andy Cook made three changes to the side which lost to Fylde Ladies, with Georgia Hewitt, Niamh Reynolds and Naomi Powell replacing Charlotte Greengrass, Amy West and Charley Docherty in the starting line-up.
The Reds made a bright start and hit the woodwork inside ten minutes, with Tamara Wilcock's effort hitting the post and going out for a goal-kick.
Two minutes later, the visitors also hit the woodwork when a long-range effort hit the crossbar before being claimed by Emily Batty.
In an end-to-end first half, Reynolds then saw a looping effort from the edge of the area saved, before Lyndsey Harkin headed Hayley James' corner straight at the goalkeeper. Harkin was then booked on the half hour mark for a foul.
James caused problems with a dangerous free-kick which caused a goalmouth scramble, but Rachel Brown was unable to find the net from close range.
HALF-TIME: Forest Women 0-0 Hull City Ladies
The Reds made a strong start to the second half, as James' cross picked out Gianna Mitchell who saw a shot parried by the opposition goalkeeper.
Mitchell came close again seven minutes later, driving forward with the ball but firing straight at the goalkeeper.
On the hour mark, Brown jinked past two players before delivering a cross for Reynolds who shot off target.
Andy Cook then made a triple change, with Rosie Axten, Mai Moncaster and Charlotte Greengrass replacing Mitchell, Naomi Powell and Wilcock.
In the 68th minute, it was Greengrass who broke the deadlock for Forest. Moncaster put pressure on the goalkeeper after a loose back pass, won possession and squared to Greengrass who finished into the bottom corner.
A minute later, Greengrass' effort deflected into the path of Brown who saw a shot hit the post from close-range. Reynolds made way for Becky Anderson shortly after.
The Reds could have doubled their lead when Axten raced down the right channel and sent in a cross for Brown who fired high and wide.
After Grace Walters replaced Georgia Hewitt in the dying embers of the contest, the full-time whistle blew to mark a return to winning ways for Andy Cook's side, leaving them sat fourth in the Northern Premier table.
FULL-TIME: Forest Women 1-0 Hull City Ladies
ANDY COOK'S VIEW:
"It was a tough day and tough conditions, but we got the job done.
"We kept another clean sheet which is our 12th of the season, and I was really pleased with the reaction of the players to bounce back after the Fylde defeat.
"It was pleasing that all five substitutes made an impact to help us get the three points and see the game out."
