Nottingham Forest can confirm that the Sky Bet Championship fixture with Barnsley scheduled for tomorrow, Monday 3rd January, has been postponed.

The club applied to the EFL for the fixture to be postponed due to a combination of injuries and positive COVID-19 tests resulting in less than the minimum numbers of players available to fulfil the fixture under EFL rules. This is the first Forest fixture that has been postponed due to the pandemic.

We thank the EFL and Barnsley for their co-operation and share the disappointment of supporters who had made plans to attend The City Ground for the first match of the new year. Strong ticket sales meant another large crowd was expected and we understand the frustration of both Forest and Barnsley supporters who might have made advance travel plans.

Tickets will be valid for the rearranged fixture, or, supporters who want to receive a refund can do so by contacting the Ticket Office on 0115 982 4388. The Ticket Office is open today (Sunday) until 4pm and tomorrow (Monday) from 9am to 3.30pm and then normal working hours of 9am to 5pm for the rest of the week.

A new date for the Barnsley fixture will be confirmed in due course through official club channels.

The Reds next fixture is the Emirates FA Cup 3rd Round tie against Arsenal at The City Ground next Sunday, 9th January, with a 5.10pm kick off. That fixture remains on. Should the situation change, supporters will be advised immediately through official club channels.
