Forest Women to host Man City at The City Ground

Nottingham Forest Women's Vitality Women's FA Cup 4th round tie against Manchester City Women is to be held at The City Ground on Saturday 29^th January with a 1pm kick-off. 

Manchester City Women have won the competition in three of the last five seasons, in addition to being FA Women’s Super League runners-up for the last five successive seasons, and boast a host of international stars within their ranks, including England Lionness internationals Ellen White, Lucy Bronze, Steph Houghton and Alex Greenwood.

Andy Cook's side secured back-to-back 4-0 victories in the first two rounds, defeating Lichfield City Ladies and Wolves Women before defeating Stoke City 2-1 in the third round.

The tie will be the second Forest Women fixture at The City Ground this season, with The Reds breaking the FA Women's Northern Premier League record with a 4,443 attendance for October's East Midlands Derby clash against The Rams.

Manchester City supporters will be allocated Block T in the lower Brian Clough Stand, with tickets available here.

With the men's fixture taking place away at Cardiff on the Sunday of that weekend (30^th January, kick-off 4pm), this is the perfect opportunity for a family day out at The City Ground to watch high quality women’s football and cheer on The Reds as they look to cause an upset in this prestigious competition.

Speaking about the fixture, Head Coach Andy Cook said: “Since this draw was made we have all been excited at the prospect of playing Manchester City and the challenge that will pose for us as a team.

"It's a big occassion for our club and for our players, but we want to cause an upset and we'll prepare as well as we can for the game.

"We're delighted to be playing the fixture at The City Ground again following the record-breaking attendance earlier this season against Derby County and it adds even more excitement to the tie."
