Nottingham Forest are delighted to announce the signing of striker Sam Surridge on a permanent transfer from Stoke City for an undisclosed fee.

The 23-year-old becomes The Reds’ fourth signing of the January transfer window, signing a deal at The City Ground until June 2024.

Surridge began his career at AFC Bournemouth and has since scored 40 goals in 73 career starts and 89 substitute appearances.

The front man, a three-time England Under-21 international, joined Stoke in August 2021 and scored four goals in nine starts for The Potters this season.

The 6-foot-3 forward also played under Steve Cooper on loan at Swansea City in the 2019-20 campaign, scoring seven goals in 23 appearances for The Swans.

Surridge will wear the number 16 shirt for The Reds and is eligible for Sunday's Emirates FA Cup tie against Leicester City.

After completing his move to The City Ground, Surridge said: “It feels amazing to be here.

"As soon as I heard that Forest were interested, it was an opportunity I couldn't turn down.

"I'm excited to get out there and score goals. I know how big of a club this is and I enjoy the pressure of playing for a club of this size."

Nottingham Forest Head Coach Steve Cooper added: “We're delighted that Sam has joined us.

"He's a player I've worked with before, so I know his attributes both as a player and as a person.

"I believe he can excel in the Championship and in the way that we play. We look forward to getting to work with him."
