The Reds have completed their second summer signing with Manchester United and England international goalkeeper Dean Henderson arriving at The City Ground.

Here are five things you may or may not know about our new arrival…

Officially amazing

In May 2019, after helping Sheffield United win promotion to the Premier League, Henderson quickly had another reason to celebrate courtesy of Guinness World Records.

Henderson achieved the title for ‘fastest time to dress as a goalkeeper’, putting on his boots, shinpads, socks, shorts, shirt and gloves in a time of 49.51 seconds, beating the previous record of just over 50 seconds.

Officially amazing, again

That wasn’t the only record Henderson achieved, with his name in the Guinness World Records for two reasons.

The second title Henderson picked up, with the help of current QPR defender Jake Clarke-Salter, was for the ‘most football headed passes in one minute in a team of two’, exchanging 91 passes in 60 seconds.

Howzat?

As a schoolboy, Henderson played county cricket. Perhaps unsurprisingly, he was an accomplished wicketkeeper with an eye for a bat too.

Golden Glove

Henderson enjoyed a fine season with Sheffield United in 2018-19 as Chris Wilder’s side won promotion to the Premier League, finishing in second place.

His form for The Blades saw him win the Sky Bet Championship Golden Glove award, keeping 21 clean sheets in 46 league appearances.

Charity work

Whilst on loan at Shrewsbury Town in December 2017, Henderson shaved all his hair off to raise money for charity.

Over £1,500 was raised in support of Hope House Children’s Hospice.
