- Nottingham Forest recreate the world famous City Ground in virtual reality through Rezzil
- Fans will be able to participate in sessions and play at The City Ground virtually through Player 22
- Fans get to experience what is it like to play from the perspective of the players
Nottingham Forest have become one of the first football clubs in the world to recreate their stadium into Rezzil’s virtual reality fitness and training platform, Player 22, allowing fans to interact with the club and play at The City Ground.
Clubs and professionals use Rezzil’s virtual platform for injury rehabilitation and to help sharpen skills by taking part in match simulations and drills without the need to be at the training ground or risk of physical contact.
VR headsets and sensors help recreate a like-for-like stadium experience, including crowd noise, while haptic feedback replicates the physical sensation of heading and kicking a ball. The technology is also seen as a way to reduce the number of headers that players need to perform in training.
Although the VR headsets are a great training tool, it has huge appeal to the fans too. Through Rezzil’s gaming product Player 22, available on the Oculus Quest headset, fans can now experience just what it feels like to head a last-minute winner at the Trent End, or train like the pros. A truly immersive and never-seen-before experience for fans!
