Forest U21s forward Ateef Konaté has been named the Premier League 2 Player of the Month for October.

The Frenchman was in superb form throughout the month, contributing five goals in five games as Forest progressed through October unbeaten.

The 21-year-old scored decisive winning goals against Sunderland and Derby County, before finding the net on three further occasions against Stoke City (2) and Norwich City.

“Ateef has been excellent for us so far this season, and we’re all delighted that his form has been recognised,” said U21s coach Dave Rogers.

“He’s scored some fantastic goals for us, but he brings so much more to the team than just finding the back of the net. He’s a threat for the opposition whenever he plays, and he has also added a real desire and work ethic off the ball too which is an area of improvement we asked of him. We now hope he can continue to progress from here because he’s a very talented individual.”
