Jesse Lingard has been shortlisted for the Carabao Cup Player of the Round.

The attacking midfielder put in a fantastic display against Tottenham Hotspur as The Reds progressed in to the fourth round following a 2-0 victory on Trentside.

Lingard netted his first goal in the Garibaldi during the match, heading home from close range after being set-up by Sam Surridge on 57 minutes.

The 29-year-old also played an important role in Renan Lodi's goal, winning back possession before the Brazilian full-back curled past Fraser Forster from the edge of the penalty area.

The victory at The City Ground sets up a fourth round fixture against Blackburn Rovers.
