Ethan Horvath secured a fifth clean sheet of the Championship campaign after helping Luton Town to a 0-0 draw away at West Bromwich Albion. The Hatters currently sit ninth in the division ahead of Saturday's fixture against QPR at Kenilworth Road.
Tyrese Fornah started for Reading as The Royals suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat at QPR on Friday evening, playing 70 mins before being replaced. Andy Carroll had given Fornah's side the lead before Lyndon Dykes' double handed the home side all three points in the capital.
Jonathan Panzo played 90 minutes for Coventry City as The Sky Blues lost 1-0 at home to Burnley. Southampton loanee Nathan Tella netted the only goal of the game at the CBS Arena to leave Mark Robins' side rooted to the bottom of the Championship table.
Next up for Panzo is a trip to Wales to face Cardiff City on Saturday.
Alex Mighten started his second League One fixture for Sheffield Wednesday as his side secured a 3-0 victory against Cheltenham Town at Hillsborough. The winger was withdrawn after 63 minutes as goals from Barry Bannan and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru added to Josh Windass' early opener.
Darren Moore's side return to action on Saturday away at Cambridge United.
Riley Harbottle helped Mansfield Town to a 1-0 win away at Barrow to see The Stages climb to fifth in League Two, playing 68 minutes before being replaced by fellow defender John-Joe O'Toole.
Will Swan was unavailable but will hope to return to the fold for Saturday's clash against Walsall at the One Call Stadium.
Fin Back impressed once more for Carlisle United as The Cumbrians picked up a 3-1 victory away at Hartlepool United, playing 61 minutes before being withdrawn. Paul Simpson's side now sit seventh in League Two ahead of Saturday's home fixture against Doncaster Rovers.
