Forest Women have been drawn away to Norton & Stockton Ancients in the first round of the FA Women's National League Cup.

The Reds will make the trip to face the side based in Stockton-on-Tees on Sunday 30th October.

Andy Cook's outfit are current holders of the FAWNL Plate after beating AFC Wimbledon in the final last season, and will be hoping to go one better in the League Cup this time around.

"It's a good draw for us and we'll give it eveything to progress," said Cook.

"We know it'll be a tough test because cup competitions can throw up surprises and Norton have proved to be a strong side, particularly at home.

"They're only one division below us so it's a game we need to make sure we're at our best for and can't let complacency slip in because that's when you get punished.

"We had a taste of silverware last season and it's spiked our appetite for more, so we'll be looking to replicate that this season starting with this tough fixture."

Meanwhile, tickets remain available for Forest Women's upcoming clashes against Loughborough Lightning at Eastwood and Derby County at The City Ground here.
