Forest Women progressed into the second round of the FA Women's National League Cup on Sunday following a 3-1 victory against Norton & Stockton Ancients.
After seeing off Leek Town in the preliminary round, The Reds faced an away trip to the National League Division One North side and saw off difficult conditions to book a place in the next round.
Head Coach Andy Cook made seven changes to the side that beat Brighouse Town last time out, with Aja Aguirre, Lauren Purchase, Liv Cook, Yasmin Mosby, Arryana Daniels, Mackenzie Smith and Naomi Powell handed starts.
Forest started strongly in the North East and registered a couple of early chances, defender Charlotte Steggles heading wide after meeting a free-kick before Charlotte Greengrass looked to add to her impressive goal tally but couldn't quite aim a long range strike on target.

The Reds' early pressure paid dividends in the 15th minute as Mosby netted her first goal in the Garibaldi to give Cook's side the early lead they had been craving, pouncing on a mistake in the hosts' back line to slot into the net.
With Forest continuing to dominate, it seemed only a matter of time until the second goal was added and Smith almost got herself on the scoresheet seven minutes before the break, connecting with Amy West's cross but unable to steer the ball on target.
However, The Reds did double their lead five minutes before half time as Greengrass continued her fine run of goalscoring after beating Norton 'keeper Laura Ellison to find the net from a cross before Daniels added a third three minutes later after the defender converted from another wide delivery.

The second half followed a similar script to the first, with Forest dominating possession and looking dangerous in attacking areas. Powell and Greengrass coming close to adding a fourth before Cook showed good awareness in defence to deny the hosts a route back into the game.

Changes were made midway through the second half as Rosetta Taylor, Hayley James, Sophie Domingo, Niamh Reynolds and Becky Anderson were handed minutes as Cook freshened up his side.
Norton looked to set up a dramatic late comeback after being awarded a penalty following a foul on Sophie Hodgson 10 minutes from time, a chance which was dispatched from 12 yards by Bianca Owens to make it 3-1 heading into the closing stages.
On her return to the side, goalkeeper Aguirre made sure Norton didn't add a second with a smart stop on 83 minutes before Smith almost added a fourth for Forest but was well denied by Ellison.
Forest stood firm to deny any additional late pressure from the hosts to add their name to the hat for the second round draw, a victory which sees The Reds extend their unbeaten run to six games ahead of Sunday's return to league action against Stoke City Ladies.
