Keylor Navas wants to give The City Ground faithful "something to smile about" as Forest host Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.

The Reds return to home soil looking to get back to winning ways after a defeat to Aston Villa last time out as Erik ten Hag's side visit Trentside.

With eight big games remaining this campaign, Navas says there is still time for Forest to put recent results behind them and put things right.

“We are in a tough situation at the moment but we have to learn from our mistakes and try to improve," he said.

“We work really hard in the week and we are giving our all. Results haven’t been as good as we would have liked, but we are a team, we’re in this together and we all back each other.

"We’ve still got time to achieve our objectives and get out of this situation."

“It’s a really important game this weekend. We’ll be playing at home in front of our fans who are fantastic and we just want to give them something to smile about.

“Our objective is to keep Nottingham Forest in the Premier League for next season and that’s what we need to have in mind always.

“If we achieve that then it will bring a huge sense of joy, not just to the players, but most importantly to the fans and everyone at the club."
