Forest Women prepare for their title decider on final day at Halbrooke Stadium as they face Stoke City.
The Reds current sit top of the FA WNL Northern Premier Division ahead of Wolverhampton Wanderers on goal difference with Burnley just two points behind the top two.
A win for the Reds against The Potters would be enough to win the league title, unless Wolves outscore Forest by a significant margin.
Sunday’s opposition, Stoke City, currently sit 8th in the Northern Premier Division winning seven of their 21 games this season.
Forest look ahead to their title-deciding match following their final win in the FA Women's National League cup with a 3-2 victory over Watford at the Pirelli Stadium.
Head coach Andy Cook shares his thoughts on a historic win for his side.
“We are delighted with it. The last time the club reached the final was 2011; to go one step further this time and win the cup was special.”
“We are really pleased to get this win for the football club and bring some silverware home with us.”
The Reds have recorded two wins against The Potters this season, both on the road, Cook is expecting a battle at Halbrooke Stadium on Sunday.
“Stoke are a good side, I’m a big fan of their staff and the way they play. It will be a good contest, Lou (Roberts) will have them set up well and they will fight for every ball throughout the game on Sunday.”
“We need to make sure that we are on the front foot and that we are playing our game.”
Forest Women’s head coach emphasised the importance of the home support on Sunday with a bumper crowd expected at Halbrooke Stadium.
“The home support on Sunday will mean everything to the players and club. It’s always a great atmosphere and when the ball hits the back of the net, the noise is always fantastic to hear.”
“We are all excited to turn up and put on a show for the fans; we want to show everyone the way Nottingham Forest play.”
Kick-off is at 2pm this Sunday at Halbrooke Stadium as The Reds look to secure the FA WNL Northern Premier Division title and qualification for the play-off final to earn promotion to the Championship.
