Morgan Gibbs-White says that Forest are raring to get their Premier League season underway against Arsenal tomorrow lunchtime.
The Reds begin their second season in the top-flight with a trip to North London to face Mikel Arteta's side, having beat the Gunners to secure Premier League status in the penultimate game of last season.
Gibbs-White played an integral role in helping keep Forest in the top-flight, scoring three goals and registering four assists in the final seven games of the season to round off an impressive first campaign on Trentside.
But the attacking midfielder is quick to put last season behind him and looking ahead to a new campaign - one in which he says he and his teammates can't wait for.
“We had a job to do at the end of last season, and that was to survive, and we did that," he said. “But this season is a new season - we’re aiming for bigger and higher.
“Hopefully we can go to Arsenal and play more football than what we usually do. We’re looking forward to it and can’t wait to get going.”
“We have to look back at season, take all the positives and grow on that. The Head Coach has been trying to do that on the training pitch and in games.
“On a personal note, I want to add more goals into my game, that’s what I’ve been working on since I’ve got back.
“I want to get into shooting positions and dangerous areas to create more opportunities, so hopefully goals are a massive part of me this season.”
Forest head into the new season equipped with three new signings, with Matt Turner this week joining Ola Aina and Anthony Elanga in putting pen to paper on Trentside thus far, and Gibbs-White hopes that the trio can add to the tightknit playing group.
“I feel like we know each other very well, especially how we finished last season in terms of fighting for each other and wanting to survive for each other.
“I feel like it’s brought us a lot closer together, the bond in this group is really good. If we can get it going this season, I think we can be a real force.”
