Forest secure dominant win in their opening day fixture at Grange Park.

Forest Women faced Stourbridge on the opening day of the FA Women’s National League at Grange Park.

The Reds took an early lead when Holly Manders’ low cross found Charlotte Greengrass in the box, who slotted home the opening goal.

With only ten minutes on the clock Sophie Domingo added a second following some great work from Freya Thomas out wide to set the forward up.

Two minutes later and Domingo scored her second of the afternoon after Becky Anderson’s long-range strike hit the bar; Domingo tapped home the rebound.

25 minutes in and debutant Manders scored one of her own as the number 10 latched onto a loose ball in the box to add a fourth for Forest.

Five minutes remaining in the opening 45 and Greengrass had her second as scorer Domingo turned provider to assist The Reds’ 22.

One minute into additional time at the end of the first half and Nat Johnson headed home her maiden goal in the Garibaldi.

Just after the hour mark and Greengrass completed her hat-trick with a composed finish into the bottom corner.

In a quieter second half for Forest Domingo created the best opportunity for the hosts as the woodwork denied the forward of her hat-trick.

After a dominant home win, Forest Women travel to Solihull Moors for their opening FA WNL cup fixture on Sunday 27th August.
