Nottingham Forest is pleased to announce that defender Zach Abbott has signed a new deal with the club.

The 17-year-old has signed a contract until the summer of 2026.

Abbott made his first-team debut for Forest in the Carabao Cup last season, coming on as a late substitute in a 3-0 win over Grimsby Town.

The defender has also played two full 90 minutes in our B Team’s opening two PL2 fixtures thus season, also representing England U17s eight times.

Head of Academy Chris McGuane said: "We are all delighted that Zach has signed his first professional contract with the club.

"We have been really pleased with how he has developed as a player since joining us in the Youth Development Phase five years ago. Zach displays a fantastic attitude to improving as a player on the pitch but is equally committed to succeeding off the pitch also.

"We look forward to seeing how he develops and progresses in the years to come."
