Forest progress in the FA WNL Cup with a convincing away win

Forest Women started their FA Women’s National League Cup campaign against Division One Midlands side Solihull Moors.

Carly Davies made one change to side that secured an opening day win against Stourbridge as Chloe Dixon made her first start for The Reds as Sophie Domingo missed out through injury.

The visitors made a strong start when Dixon picked out Charlotte Greengrass in the box, the striker fired her strike wide.

Forest were rewarded for their positive start when Dixon worked an opportunity of her own and made no mistake to give the visitors the lead in the fifth minute.

Mai Moncaster almost doubled The Reds’ advantage when through in on goal, only to find her effort well saved by the ‘keeper.

Holly Manders scored her second goal in as many games as an excellent corner into the box from Manders hit the back of the net.

Manders added a third for The Reds with a great strike into the bottom corner as the visitors went into the break with a commanding lead.
