Steve Cooper says that Friday night's fixture against Tottenham Hotspur as the makings of a special atmosphere at The City Ground.

The Reds return to Premier League action against Ange Postecoglou's side having drew 1-1 with Wolves at Molineux last weekend.

With back-to-back home games before Christmas on the horizon, the Forest Head Coach wants his side to make the most of what is likely to be another crackling atmosphere on Trentside.

On the reaction against Wolves...

“It was really important that we did better at the non-negotiables against Wolves.

“We were disappointed not to win the game, but Wolves are a good team, especially at home.

“It was good to see that we responded in a rightful way in terms of our work ethic and the principles we hold ourselves to.”

On Spurs...

“It’s vital to commit to what we know it takes to put in a performance which means we’re at our best.

“You always look at the opponent, and in this case it’s Spurs, but we’ve just got to make sure we commit to what we think it takes to do well in the game. That starts and ends with us.

“We know Spurs are a really good team who are full of threats all over the pitch and the way they play you have to be mindful of. This is the nature of Premier League.

“It’s Friday night, it’s got the makings of a brilliant atmosphere and one we not only want to be involved in, but also succeed in.

“We’re all looking forward to the game.”

On home support...

“The atmosphere at The City Ground and the unconditional support has been a massive influence, certainly in my experiences of being here.

“It’s got the makings of a really good game and a really good atmosphere, we’ve craved for these sort of games for decades so let’s make the most of it.

“Let’s play with no fear and play with the motivation of doing well and succeed which is what we want to do.”
