Forest were beaten 2-0 by Leeds United as preparations for the new season continued.
Second-half goals from Patrick Bamford and Ian Poveda secured the win for Leeds, on a night where players returning from injury got valuable minutes in the legs.
Leeds threatened early on, with Luis Sinisterra striking the post from range inside two minutes, before Ryan Yates, slipped through by Taiwo Awoniyi, hit the side netting from a tight angle.
The Reds forced Illan Meslier into action soon after when Remo Freuler’s cross found Danilo whose header was tipped behind for a corner.
Not much separated the two sides in the opening 45 minutes, with Steve Cooper freshening things up with Hwang Ui-jo replacing Awoniyi at the break, and then making a further six changes on the hour mark.
Chris Wood and Gustavo Scarpa played their first minutes of pre-season, whilst Anthony Elanga made his debut after signing from Manchester United this week.
On 66 minutes though, Leeds took the lead through Bamford, who capitalised on a loose back pass, before rounding George Shelvey and slotting into an empty net.
Poveda, a second-half substitute for Leeds, threatened with a good effort from range which skimmed the post, before wrapping up the win with a goal of his own on 85 minutes.
The winger fired low beyond Shelvey into the bottom corner, in what would be Leeds’ final dangerous action of the night.
The final whistle blew to mark the end of the night, with Forest continuing to build fitness and sharpness ahead of Sunday’s trip to PSV Eindhoven.
