Four Reds were in action on Monday night amid a busy schedule of international action.

Here's a look at how our players fared and who else could be in action later this week...

Neco Williams & Brennan Johnson | Turkey 2-0 Wales

Wales were unable to bounce back from their defeat to Armenia as they lost 2-0 in Samsun to Turkey on Monday evening.

Williams and Johnson both started for Rob Page's side, but found themselves a man down before the break as Joe Morrell was dismissed for a high challenge and shown a straight red card.

Johnson was replaced at the interval after picking up a knock, and after Danny Ward denied Turkey from the penalty spot, the hosts took the lead through Mehmet Umut Nayir on 72 minutes.

Eight minutes later, Turkey doubled their lead Arda Güler to secure all three points, a result which leaves Wales fourth in Group D having picked up four points from four matches.

A disappointing result in the end, but a night which saw Williams play his first full 90 minutes since fracturing his jaw against Brighton and Hove Albion in April.

Remo Freuler | Switzerland 2-2 Romania

Freuler played the full 90 minutes as Switzerland saw a two-goal lead slip away from them in the dying embers of their fourth Group I fixture.

The hosts took the lead in Lucerne through Zeki Amdouni who found the net from six yards before the half hour.

The forward then doubled his and Switzerland's tally for the night in the 41st minute, latching onto Xherdan Shaqiri's through ball before coolly slotting beyond Horatiu Moldovan for 2-0.

Murat Yakin's side looked to have maintained their perfect start to Group I, but Romania grabbed a goal back on 89 minutes through substitute Valentin Mihaila who volleyed home.

Then, in the second minute of injury time, Mihaila completed the comeback for Romania, racing through on goal to fire past Yann Sommer and snatch a point for the visitors.

Switzerland still remain top of Group I by two points having picked up 10 points from four games.

Dale Taylor | Northern Ireland 0-1 Kazakhstan

Taylor was a second-half substiute as Northern Ireland fell to a disappointing 1-0 defeat at home to Kazakhstan.

The striker was introduced in the 71st minute as the hosts looked to find a winner, but instead, Kazakhstan left Belfast with all three points.

With two minutes of normal time remaining, Abat Aimbetov's excellent run from deep inside his own half was matched by a cool one-on-one finish to secure a late win for the visitors.

The result leaves Northern Ireland fifth in Group H having won just one of their four group stage matches.

Coming up...

There are still a busy few days to come on the international front with Euro 2024 and Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, international friendlies and U21 European Championships action on the horizon.

On Tuesday night, Orel Mangala will hope to feature for Belgium as they take on Estonia in Tallinn, whilst Mohamed Dräger and Tunisia take on Algeria in Annaba.

Moussa Niakhaté and Cheikhou Kouyaté could also be in action for Senegal as they prepare to face Brazil in a friendly match in Portugal.

On Thursday, England U21s' European Championships campaign gets underway, with Morgan Gibbs-White set to captain the Young Lions in their first group stage fixture against the Czech Republic.

Lee Carsley's side will then face Israel and Germany the following Sunday and Wednesday respectively.
