The famous three stripes are back with adidas becoming Forest's new official kit partner ahead of the 2023/24 season.

The leading global brand in sports industry will manufacture all technical apparel and playing kit, including Forest's 2023/24 home kit which is to be revealed week commencing 10th July.

As we re-establish our proud long-standing history with the brand, we take look at five of the best adidas x Forest kits from over the years...

1977/80

We begin by taking it right back to 1977 where Forest partnered with adidas for the first time.

The Reds, having previously won promotion from the Second Division after finishing third in 1976/77, were tipped to struggle in their first season back in the First Division.

But Forest were to defy opinions and win the league title in their first season back in the top-flight, all whilst sporting this smart, casual and classy number.

John McGovern, pictured below, is seen with the Anglo-Scottish Cup which Forest won the previous season, with the iconic three stripes running from the neckline all the way down the sleeves.

Forest would go on to wear the shirt for the next two seasons after, which of course saw them lift two European Cups in what is seen as the most iconic years in the Club's history.

1981/82

This season saw the introduction of the white pinstripes to the Garibaldi strip.

Forest would finish 12th in the 1981/82 campaign whilst wearing a classic number sponsored by Panasonic.

1984/86

A rather unique design, but one remembered by many Forest fans for being a classic.

This particular strip saw the adidas logo occupy the bottom of either sleeve rather than in the middle of the shirt.

The shirt also saw the famous Tricky Tree positioned in the middle shirt, with shirt sponsor SKOL underneath.

1984/85

The SKOL home kit was partnered by this classic away kit during the 1984/85.

Modelled by Steve Hodge, the pinstripes were retained, this time in blue, on top of a classic yellow design.

This is a colour scheme Forest have also retained in previous seasons, with its 2022/23 away kit sporting the same yellow and blue template.

Another all-yellow away kit completes our list.

Gary Mills is pictured below wearing the strip which was wore during Forest's second European Cup-winning campaign.

It's a kit which will go down in Forest folklore having been wore on some of The Reds' travels during a memorable season.
