With the international break now over, we took a look at how our Reds performed whilst representing their countries.
Morgan Gibbs-White
Fresh after registering an assist for Emile Smith Rowe in England U21s’ 4-0 win over France at the weekend, Gibbs-White came off the bench to score from the penalty spot in the Young Lions’ 2-1 defeat to Croatia at Craven Cottage.
Neco Williams
Having started at left-back in Wales’ 1-1 draw with Croatia, Williams was moved into a left-sided centre-half role in a back three in Wales’ 1-0 win over Latvia on Tuesday night.
The versatile defender played the full 90 minutes as Kieffer Moore’s goal secured the win in Cardiff.
Remo Freuler
Having played the full 90 minutes in Switzerland’s 5-0 win over Belarus previously, Freuler got another 90 minutes in the tank in Geneva on Tuesday.
The midfielder registered two assists as his side made it two wins from two in their Euro 2024 qualifying group.
Orel Mangala
Mangala, who made his first appearance for Belgium in a year against Sweden, made his first start for Belgium in a friendly with Germany on Tuesday night.
The midfielder played 80 minutes as goals from Yannick Carrasco, Romelu Lukaku and Kevin de Bruyne secured a 3-2 win in Cologne.
Moussa Niakhaté
Niakhaté followed up an international debut for Senegal with a first start for his country on Tuesday.
Aliou Cissé’s side won 1-0 against Mozambique thanks to Boulaye Dia’s first-half strike, with Niakhaté playing the full 90 minutes.
