HEAD COACH'S VIEW
Head Coach Steve Cooper spoke to the media this week to preview the clash against the Saints.
“We've got to thrive in the moment.
"The bigger the games get, it’s even more important to focus on performance and what you’re in control of and use the context around the game as motivation.
“You have to keep that stored in your mind, but where the focus needs to be at the forefront of your mind is what it takes to do well and the controllables.
LAST TIME OUT
Our last meeting against Southampton came in January at St. Mary's Stadium.
Taiwo Awoniyi scored the game's only goal as The Reds picked up a big three points on the South Coast.
RECENT FORM
Forest will look to respond having lost 2-1 to Brentford last time out. The Reds have lost only two of their last 12 games in the Premier League at The City Ground.
Southampton, meanwhile, sit bottom of the Premier League and come into the game winless in their last nine.
PLAYED FOR BOTH: DEXTER BLACKSTOCK
Blackstock moved to Southampton from Oxford United in 2003, going on to make 35 appearances and score nine goals for the Saints.
The striker joined The Reds from QPR in 2009, initially on loan before spending seven years on Trentside.
In total, he scored 44 goals in 187 games for Forest across all competitions.
