The Reds secure a dominant win in the Women's FA Cup
Forest Women started their FA Cup campaign with a first round clash against tier four side Sheffield FC.
Carly Davies made five changes to the side that secured a 2-0 win against Wolves last weekend at Grange Park.
Sophie Domingo, Niamh Reynolds and Chloe Dixon all returned to the starting eleven while Aja Aguirre made her first appearance of the season and Ella Haughey made her Forest debut.
Forest dominated possession in the early stages of the cup tie but could not make the breakthrough with Reynolds coming closest in the opening quarter.
The Reds continued to push for the opener as Freya Thomas drifted past her defender, whipped a dangerous cross into the box with the resulting strike from Charlotte Greengrass saved.
Forest did break the deadlock just before the half hour mark as Louanne Worsey slotted home her second in as many games from close range after the ball fell kindly to the striker in the box.
The hosts were denied a second as the Sheffield number one produced a great save to stop Thomas' headed effort from an excellent Worsey cross.
The lead was doubled minutes after the restart as Sophie Domingo beat her defender out wide and fired a low cross towards goal which found its way into the back-of-the-net.
Forest had their second goal in as many minutes as Domingo powered past the Sheffield defence, squared it to Worsey to tap home her second of the afternoon.
Reynolds extended The Reds’ lead to four with a stunning strike into the top corner, her first goal of the season.
Carly Davies looked to the bench in the 64th minute with Alice Keitley and Olivia Cook entering the action; Becky Anderson and goalscorer Worsey made way.
It was an instant impact for Keitley off the bench as the substitute picked up the rebound from Greengrass’ effort to slot home her first Forest goal.
Mai Moncaster was introduced with 15 minutes left in the cup tie, replacing Thomas.
Forest soon had their sixth of the match as Mollie Green played an excellent ball to Haughey down the left wing, the full-back then picked out Greengrass in space who netted her ninth goal of the season.
With the match well into the final stages, Reynolds’ long-ranged effort hit the back-of-the-net as Forest secured their place in the second round of the FA Cup.
