Murray spent four years in South London having joined from rivals Brighton and Hove Albion in 2011.
The striker scored 47 goals in 126 games for the Eagles before departing for AFC Bournemouth in 2015.
Murray joined Forest in January 2021 and scored twice in 16 games after arriving on a short-term deal from Brighton.
