Forest Women’s Head Coach looks ahead to Sunday’s trip to Halifax.
Carly Davies' side will hope to build on last weekend's win as they face Halifax at The Clayborn Ground. Read what the Head Coach had to say ahead of the league clash.
Reflections on Liverpool Feds win
The Reds secured all three points at Grange Park with a comfortable 5-0 win over Liverpool Feds.
“We were pleased with our out of possession performance, limiting Feds to one real opportunity in the game.”
“On reflection we thought we could have been better on the ball so that’s something we’ll be looking to improve on this Sunday.”
Competition for places in the squad
With Louanne Worsey back in contention following a three-game suspension, Davies spoke on the importance of having competition for places in the starting line-up.
“We’ve been growing the squad this season, and we’re still looking to make additions to help our ambitions to challenge for this league title.”
“Having competition for places is healthy; it makes the players dig in and work hard which raises the bar for themselves personally.”
Hayley James injury update
During the game against Wolverhampton Wanderers on 1st October Hayley James sustained a ligamentous knee injury.
The nature of the injury is expected to keep Hayley out for approximately four months. Hayley will complete her rehabilitation with the club’s medical team.
“I’m really disappointed for Hayley, she had been one of our most consistent performers this season.”
“She’s mentally and physically strong; she will be working with our medical team as they support her in rehabilitation.”
Looking ahead to Sunday
Forest travel to Yorkshire this weekend as they aim to make it back-to-back league wins.
“Halifax have signed some exciting players over the last couple of weeks, so we expect them to look slightly different to what we have seen of them recently.”
“Behaviourally they will have the same elements to their game, so we’ll have to be ready for that and ultimately focus on ourselves.”
