Forest drew 2-2 with Luton Town at The City Ground on Saturday afternoon.

Steve Cooper made one change to the side which drew 0-0 with Crystal Palace before the international break as Anthony Elanga replaced Callum Hudson-Odoi in the starting line-up.

Forest started strong as Elanga found the overlapping run of Harry Toffolo whose cross was volleyed goalwards by Chris Wood with Thomas Kaminski making a fine save.

A minute later, another dangerous cross, this time from Serge Aurier, was headed just wide by Ibrahim Sangaré.

Luton started to come into the game, but it was Forest who created the better chances in the opening 45 minutes, with Elanga crossing for Wood whose deft first-time effort was well blocked and deflected behind for a corner.

Forest’s best chance of the first half came right at the end of it, when Sangaré could only fire wide from inside the area after Morgan Gibbs-White’s effort was parried away.

HALF-TIME: Forest 0-0 Luton

Just three minutes after the restart, Forest took the lead.

A quick break saw Gibbs-White find Elanga who released Wood one-on-one, and the New Zealand international coolly found the net with a left-footed strike to give Forest the lead.

Wood came close with a header just two minutes later, but he was unable to guide his effort underneath the crossbar.

On the hour, Gibbs-White showed good footwork to weave his way into the area but he couldn’t keep his curling effort down.

On 76 minutes though, Wood doubled his and Forest’s tally for the afternoon.

Elanga’s in-swinging delivery found the head of Wood who hammered home for 2-0.

Cooper made his first changes of the afternoon immediately after, replacing Nico Domínguez, Willy Boly and Sangaré with Ryan Yates, Cheikhou Kouyaté and Joe Worrall.

On 83 minutes, Luton pulled a goal back through Chiedozie Ogbene who found the net amid a goalmouth scramble. After a VAR check for offside, the goal was given.

Cooper made two more changes shortly after as Elanga and Aurier made way for Neco Williams and Ola Anna.

But in the second minute of stoppage time, Luton found a late leveller as Elijah Adebayo controlled Tom Lockyer’s long pass and found the back of the net.

Forest thought they had regained a dramatic late lead as Wood fired across goal and into the bottom corner, but the flag was raised for offside before eight minutes of added time came to an end.
