Nottingham Forest is delighted to announce the signing of Greek international Odysseas Vlachodimos from Benfica.

The goalkeeper has signed a four-year deal which keeps him at The City Ground until at least the summer of 2027.

Vlachodimos, 29, arrives having been an ever-present as Benfica won their 38th Portuguese league title last season, keeping 21 clean sheets in 34 league appearances.

The shot-stopper, born in Germany, came through the ranks at Stuttgart, playing 68 times for the German club’s second team before joining Panathinaikos in 2016.

After a two-year spell with Panathinaikos, Vlachodimos moved to Portugal and went on to make 225 appearances across all competitions for Benfica, winning two league titles in Portugal as well as two Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira titles.

The goalkeeper arrives on Trentside having made just shy of 500 career appearances for both club and country.

Forest’s Chief Football Officer, Ross Wilson said: "We are pleased to welcome Odysseas to Nottingham Forest.

"He is very talented and brings an abundance of experience with him, and he will add real competition to our goalkeeping department."
