Nottingham Forest is delighted to announce that Joe Worrall has signed a new deal with the club.
The Forest captain has signed a two-year extension to his current contract, keeping him at The City Ground until at least the summer of 2026.
Worrall, who joined Forest as a youngster in 2011, has since made 220 appearances across all competitions for his boyhood club.
The defender made his Forest debut against Reading in April 2016, and has since established himself as a key player in the heart of Forest's backline, captaining The Reds in their 2021/22 promotion-winning season and last year's campaign which saw Forest retain their top-flight status.
Having worn the armband in each of Forest's four Premier League outings this season, the 26-year-old has now committed his future to Forest once more, having previously signed a long-term deal in 2020.
Joe Worrall said: “I’m over the moon and just so pleased to extend my time with the club.
“You only have to look to the future and it looks very bright. Everybody knows how much we care to try and improve as a team and try and push on as a club.
“The owner has proved time and time again that he’s creating the Forest family and building a real identity within the football club, not just in the club, but in the league and in world football. We want to become that force again.”
Forest's Chief Football Officer, Ross Wilson added: "We were pleased to reach an agreement with Joe recently to extend his contract and I know that Joe was equally pleased to do so."
