The Reds make it 4 wins on the bounce with win over Fylde.

Forest Women returned to Grange Park in their FA WNL North tie against AFC Fylde.

There was a late change to The Reds’ starting eleven as Charlotte Greengrass dropped to the bench while Mollie Green made her first start for Forest.

Mai Moncaster opened the scoring for the hosts with a stunning strike into the top corner from the edge of the box.

The Reds doubled their lead only two minutes later as Moncaster slotted home her second goal of the afternoon in the 11th minute.

Forest almost had a third after an excellent strike from Mollie Green smashed against the bar.

AFC Fylde pulled on back in the 18th minute when Coasters’ striker Lackey scored the visitors opening goal.

Freya Thomas almost restored Forest’s two-goal advantage after Hayley James won the ball back on halfway to then pick out Thomas in space in the box, the number 17’s shot was wide of the near post.

The hosts did score their third of the match as Chloe Dixon had her second goal in the Garibaldi: an outstanding run past the defenders was topped off with a calm finish past the ‘keeper.

It was a strong start to the second half for Forest with Green and Dixon both having good opportunities to extend the lead.

Carly Davies introduced Sophie Domingo with 30 minutes remaining at Grange Park with goal scorer Dixon making way.

Domingo made an instant impact with her first opportunity at goal hitting the bar.

Niamh Reynolds entered the action for Holly Manders with five minutes left.

Thomas almost had her goal when Domingo’s header fell to the forward; Thomas fired her strike over.
