Defeat on the road for Forest Women
Forest Women travelled to Lancashire for their top-of-the-table clash against Burnley in the Northern Premier Division.
Carly Davies named an unchanged starting eleven from the side that defeated AFC Fylde in the previous week.
New signings Louanne Worsey and Abi Cowie were named on the bench for the fixture.
In a quiet opening ten minutes for The Reds, Mollie Green and Chloe Dixon both had efforts fired narrowly wide of the goal.
Good defending from Olivia Cook prevented a good chance for the hosts; Forest then had a chance of their own as Holly Manders’s strike was comfortably saved.
Burnley took the lead in the 20th minute via a Millie Ravening strike.
An instant reply for the visitors as Freya Thomas calmly slotted home past the ‘keeper to level the score.
Only three minutes and The Reds had their second of the match after an excellent ball into the box from Manders reached Nat Johnson at the back post to give Forest the lead.
In a manic ten-minute spell, Burnley equalised in the 27th minute through Amata Coleman-Evans.
The Clarets re-took the lead eight minutes before the break as Brenna McPartlan headed home their third of the afternoon.
