Nottingham Forest is delighted to partner with Maggie’s Nottingham to offer a drop-in cancer awareness and support event at the newly launched Nottingham Forest Museum at The City Ground on Wednesday 17th April 2024 (6pm-8pm).
A different kind of cancer care
When someone is diagnosed with cancer, their whole life is turned upside down. Maggie’s provides support for people with cancer and their loved ones, free of charge. The centre is at the City Hospital in Nottingham. Whatever kind of cancer, and whatever stage you’re at – Maggie’s is here for you.
3 in 5 people find the mental health challenge of cancer harder to deal with than the physical challenge.
They have a team of cancer support specialists who have expert knowledge about cancer and treatment, and many are NHS-trained. You don’t need an appointment – just come in.
Needed More than ever
With over 50% of the population being diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lifetime, it has never been more essential to have the support of Maggie’s alongside their medical care.
Nottingham Forest is committed to remaining in the heart of our community and we are thrilled to be given the opportunity to help amplify the messaging of the wonderful work that Maggie’s carry out within our city.
Chairman, Tom Cartledge said “This is a cause very close to my family for many years, our family had supported the Nottingham branch of the Maggie’s charity. The thought that our fan base can access their expertise, care and compassion is fantastic.”
“So many of our community will be affected by the impact of cancer and I know our club can help those suffering here at The City Ground, which for many is a safe space”
The event will take place in the Nottingham Forest Museum at The City Ground. If you are living with cancer, or somebody close to you is, please come along to meet Maggie’s team of experts, find out more about the support they offer at the City Hospital and meet other people in a similar situation.
Attendance at this event is limited to 50. Please only register if you or your loved ones can benefit from Maggie’s services and if you are planning on attending.
