Forest Women secure three points on the road thanks to a Charlotte Greengrass brace.

The Reds travelled across the Midlands to the War Memorial Athletic Ground to take on Stourbridge in the Northern Premier Division.

Carly Davies made one change as Mai Moncaster returned to the starting eleven with Louanne Worsey unavailable due to her involvement in the England U19 Euro qualifiers.

Forest started on the front foot as Holly Manders fired over at the back post from Abi Cowie’s in-swinging cross into the area.

There was more good play from Cowie in the build up to Forest’s opener as the defender played Moncaster into space down the right channel. Moncaster sent a low ball across goal for Charlotte Greengrass to slot home her 50th goal for the club at the near post.

The visitors continued to pile pressure on the Stourbridge defence with Freya Thomas and Nat Johnson coming close, the latter only denied by the woodwork.

A brilliant passage of play from The Reds almost led to a second following an excellent touch from Thomas to release Sophie Domingo through on goal, but the winger’s effort was saved by the keeper.

Forest did have their second when Domingo, through on goal again, this time squared it to Greengrass to score her second of the afternoon.

Into the second half and Domingo beat her defender down the left wing and found Moncaster in the box with her cross, whose attempt was straight at the keeper.

The Reds continued to push to extend their lead as Domingo was denied again with the forward having consecutive strikes saved in the box.

Carly Davies introduced Ella Haughey with 30 minutes remaining and the defender almost made an instant impact as her deep cross hit the post. Manders also saw her effort strike the woodwork in the following attack.

With the match into the closing stages Laura-Jayne O’Neill and Olivia Cook entered the action, whilst Lily Stevenson made her Forest debut in the final moments of the league tie.
