Nottingham Forest is delighted to announce that captain Lyndsey Harkin has signed a new contract.
The defender has agreed a new one-year deal with the Club ahead of Forest Women’s 2024/25 campaign in the Northern Premier Division.
Harkin, who made her senior debut in 2005, has made over 275 appearances for Forest winning FA Northern Premier League and Northern Premier Division titles during her spell on Trentside.
Nottingham Forest Women Head Coach, Carly Davies, said: “Lyndsey has been a mainstay and a player at the heart of Nottingham Forest Women long before I joined the Club.
“She is not only an exceptionally talented footballer, but she also understands the history of the Club, and is Forest through and through. She encompasses what it means to be a Forest fan.
“It makes my job as Head Coach easy when a player is intrinsically driven to take the team and Club to the levels we know it can and will reach. She deserves to be at the heart of what will hopefully shape up to be a successful season and a historic one for the Club.
“Together we plan to raise our levels beyond last season and put the Club where it deserves to be. I have no doubt she will be the person at the forefront as we embark on an exciting season.”
Upon signing her new deal, Harkin added: “I’m delighted to sign a new deal. I love the Club and everything about it, wearing the badge and representing Nottingham – I’m thrilled to be here for another year.
“It’s great that the Club has backed the women’s team and showed this support for us, it’s now down to us on the pitch to push this forward and be successful.
“Myself and the team are all excited for the start of the season; we know it’s going to be a tough season in a strong league, but we’re all raring to go.”
