Nuno Espírito Santo spoke to the media on Thursday to preview Forest's Premier League season opener against AFC Bournemouth.

The Forest Head Coach discussed a variety of topics including pre-season, taking on the Cherries and transfer business...

On pre-season…

“It was one of the main objectives we had, to go away in pre-season and work on things we don’t usually have time for, tactically, mentally and physically.

“The relationship between us and the players, and the bond the players have built is very nice.”

On changes from last season…

“It’s always the main idea to improve our game.

“The results in pre-season don’t mean a lot, now the real competition starts, where we have the moment to evaluate what we need to still improve.

“There’s always a chance to do things better.

“We want to compete well and be a team that is able to control all moments of the game with the ball and without the ball.”

On Bournemouth…

“We know that Bournemouth have a strong squad.

“(Dominic) Solanke is a good player who is not going to be involved in the game, but they have quality players all over the pitch.”

On transfer business…

“While the market is open, everything is possible.

“One of the main aspects that is important for us is that we keep the players who are here.”

On new recruits…

“We are really happy with the players who have joined.

“Their task is not easy because when they arrived they realised that we have a strong squad.

“They have to work very hard to get in the team. Internal competition is what you want.

“All the players we have brought in have been brought in because we believe they can add different things to our squad and different solutions for the coaching staff.”
