Nottingham Forest is delighted to announce the signing of Paraguay international Ramón Sosa.

The 24-year-old has joined from Argentina Primera Division side Tallares, signing a five-year deal which runs until the summer of 2029.

An exciting, direct forward capable of playing on either flank, Sosa arrives having been an influential player for Tallares, registering seven goals and six assists in 21 appearances this term.

The winger has also received 14 caps for Paraguay and shone at this summer’s Copa América, netting an incredible solo strike against Costa Rica in the group stages.

Born in Maracana, Sosa began his career in his native country, winning a Copa Paraguay with Olimpia in 2021.

A move to Argentina came in 2022, making an immediate impression after scoring six goals and adding seven assists in his first season with Gimnasia.

Sosa made the move to Tallares the following year and departs the club having registered 17 goals and 13 assists in a total of 56 appearances.

Nottingham Forest Chief Football Officer, Ross Wilson said: “Ramón has been coveted by many clubs but was so clear in his desire to join Nottingham Forest.

“We could all feel his energy, emotion, pride and excitement to be here from the first minute he arrived.

“He can’t wait to get started and we are delighted that he is here with us.”
