Nuno Espírito Santo gave his reaction to Forest TV following Forest's opening day 1-1 draw with AFC Bournemouth.
The Head Coach gave his thoughts on the performance, the arrival of Ramón Sosa, as well as paying tribute to Danilo after the midfielder was stretchered off early in the first half.
On the injury to Danilo…
“We know he’s gone to hospital. We know that it’s serious.
“It was a tough moment for everybody here. First of all, Danilo is a very special person, the way he works with a smile on his face.
“Then we’re going to miss his qualities, his talent and what he gives to the team.
“We wish him well and hope for the best. Let’s hope it’s not too much time.”
“You could see the reactions of the players, because we all love Danilo. First of all in their minds and my mind, we don’t think about football, we just hope it’s nothing serious.
“I think the team reacted well, we switched on, Yatesy came on and did well in the game. We keep moving forward.”
On the result…
“I think we played well. Overall, I’m very happy.
“You can call it bad luck (for Bournemouth’s goal) but we should have done better.
“In that moment, I felt that the game was under control. We had a lot of possession, a lot of situations higher in the pitch, good combinations and controlling all the counter-attacks.
“Overall, it was a good game. Both teams had chances, Bournemouth are a good team, but it feels like we could have taken it over the line.”
On taking the positives…
“We are not down.
“We are aware that we have been working very hard since day one after six weeks of preparation, which has given me satisfaction.
“Let’s move forward.
On the arrival of Ramon Sosa…
“He can bring us different things on the wing. He can play both sides and he’s a talented player.
“You can see from all the teams in the Premier League that players that come need some time, because like ourselves there is quality in the squad.
“He has to work really hard to get in the team, and we are here to support him.”
